Economies

Economies

Besides the topics I had planned to research on, I was thinking and I thought about economies and how they are affected by rollercoasters. So I did a little bit of research and it is quite true since roller coasters are part of amusement parks which known as tourist attractions. Tourist attractions could be an aquariums, zoos or museums. The money accumulated from tourist attractions goes to the government which helps the economies along with taxes and other things. This money goes to things that the city needs like health care and schools. So if a lot of people would pay to go on roller coaster, A fraction of the money goes to the govenment to help it thrive.

Monthly Checkup #2

Monthly Checkup #2

Hello again, I have done some more research and I will be telling you about the History, Science and Architecture. In the last period of time I had been researching  architecture and have learned that very experienced architects are needed to make a roller coasters with a lot of time planning. Here are some other thing I had learned. For the history of roller coasters, they did not start out like the ones we see today but rather as Russian ice slides in the 17th century. France had picked up on this to except that they had built actual roller coasters made of wood. Then over the years, People started to make roller coasters bigger, faster and stronger which had led to gigantic speedy roller coasters. For science, roller coasters usually rely on physics  to make it work. the most important force for the roller coaster is gravity. Gravity is what pushes the roller coaster down and back up a hill which is crucial. Finally for architecture, the pieces of a roller coaster are usually built in a different country and the shipped to then be built. Those are some things I learned.

Monthly Checkup #1

Monthly Checkup #1

Hello again,  I am back and this is my first monthly post to inform you what I have been doing lately. As you know if you read my last post, I am going to do a series of events involving roller coasters. Also my monthly posts are not really monthly because I will be releasing 2 of these a month until June. So now that is out of the way, ill tell you what I have been up to in terms of my roller coaster project. First I have been doing quite a bit of research on the history of a roller coaster and covered quite a bit of information. If you want to know a bit about the history of roller coasters you can go to  www.aceonline.org and they have bit about roller coasters and other things. I have looked at the science too and it is pretty interesting when you think about it.  Like for the history, I will also giving my source and you should defiantly check it out too. The source of the science is  http://science.howstuffworks.com  and has other things with science. Next monthly checkup, I will research the architecture of roller coasters and tell you the information that I learned. Anyway for now this will be it.

A Start To A Long Journey

I am starting to do some research for my year long project. I had recently presented my pitch presentation to the fellow resilience of a school and i must say that it went quite well. Now I am going to be doing research on three things that have to do with my topic. Also if you don't know what my topic is I am doing roller coasters. Anyway like I said, I have three topics I am researching. First I am researching the history of roller coasters and how they meant to be. Next I am researching the architecture of roller coaster. Basically how they are built in order to stand strong like they are in real life. Finally I will research the science. It will be the science behind g force to the pulley that brings the cart up the first hill. After I research I will build my own miniature roller coaster and show it but we will get into that later. For now that is what I will do.
